The beauty of handblown glass

We’ve handpicked a stunning selection of Glass Art from the KwaZulu-Natal studio of master glassblower Guido van Besouw.

ZULU LULU Art House curator Trayci Tompkins recently visited Van Besouw’s studio. His extraordinary works – currently showcased in our KZN Midlands gallery – reflect an abundance of colour, light and organic form.

Moulten glass that is patiently layered, twisted, turned and shaped into vases, paperweights, candle holders and bowls under intense and mesmerising heat.  It’s a fiery, calm and rhythmical process we’ve captured in this short video.
